Migrate from Intercom
Bring your customers and their conversation history over, run both tools side by side, and switch when you're ready. All it takes is an Intercom access token and a few minutes.
Intercom's limits from its developer documentation and help center. What comes over is what unclench.ai's importer does today.
What comes over
- Contacts with an email or a phone number: name, email, phone, location and custom attributes.
- Conversations from the last 2 to 5 years, you choose: what customers wrote, your team's replies, Fin's replies and internal notes, with their original dates.
- Images and attachments, copied over so they stay after you leave Intercom.
- Each conversation's Intercom tags and rating.
What doesn't
- Assignments, status changes and other Intercom events, and tickets.
- More than the latest 500 messages of any one conversation, which is as many as Intercom shares.
- Workflows, product tours and your Intercom help center. Add your help center's address as a knowledge source and the agent answers from it.
How to switch

Create an Intercom app
In Intercom's Developer Hub, create an app with Read and list users and companies and Read conversations, and copy its access token.

Start the import
In unclench.ai, open Settings, Import, paste the token and choose how far back to go. It runs in the background, contacts first and then conversations.

Add your help content
Your website, help center or docs, so the agent can answer from them.

Put the widget on your site
Next to Intercom while you compare, or in its place.

Import again on the day you switch
Only new or changed conversations come over, and nothing is duplicated. Then remove Intercom's Messenger.
Your access token
It only needs read permissions, it's used only for the import, and it's deleted when the import finishes. Imported conversations don't count toward your plan's messages.
What it costs afterwards
unclench.ai is $49 a month for 2 seats and 2,000 AI replies, or $99 for 10 seats and 6,000, with no per-resolution fees. On Intercom, seats start at $29 a month and Fin adds $0.99 per outcome.

- Setup takes a few minutes. The import runs in the background, and a large account takes a while; the page shows how far it's got.
- Will I lose my conversation history?
- No. Conversations from the last 2 to 5 years come over with their messages, notes and files, and stay readable in unclench.ai after you cancel Intercom.
